Alex founded Vemgoo in 2017. Based in Cape Town he manages the team and operations while overseeing the company’s strategy and product development. He is also the unofficial vemgoo kite instructor.

Alex studied International management at IE Business School, one of the best schools in Europe. After obtaining his master degree he joined the Allianz group. Never far from the sea, Alex started sailing at 2 weeks of age and never left the ocean. He is an avid sailing competitor and took part in high profile events such as the America’s Cup.

With his background in professional sailing and extensive traveling, he felt the need for a community-driven marketplace making the adventure activities research and booking easy.

Jason Paradise

Co-Founder & COO

Adventure begins when you step outside your comfort zone  — Unknown

Jason is the hyper-energetic COO and sales genius of vemgoo. When Alex called to tell him about his idea, he decided to quit his job at WorkSmart and join the adventure in 2018.

Jason was enrolled for 3 years in the special forces. He is the super ninja of the company, always making sure we are safe. At heart, he is an adventurer having lived in 4 continents by the age of 25.

Jason loves sports, practised Open Atlantic Ocean Swimming and completed several open water swims.

Sabine Mantovani

Business Development

Sabine graduated in with her masters in Data Analytics and Digital Business from EDHEC Business School, one of the leading business institutions in Europe. Adventure travel lover herself, she decided to come to Cape Town and join the vemgoo adventure.

Sabine is curious about everything in life and passionate about sailing and travelling. She learning kitesurfing under the patient guidance of Alex.

Pieter Venter

Lead Developer

Pieter has always been into computers and coding. He is constantly learning and improving his own knowledge and set of skills. He likes working on the latest tech whilst sticking to proven best practices.

After studying in Stellenbosch and then working for several years in the Cape Town area, Pieter is now working remotely from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in China.

Pieter is independent and individualistic; strong-minded and determined. Venturesome, he’ll stick his neck out and take responsibility for what he believes is right. The challenge of new problems and new ventures is stimulating, and he responds with action.

Daniël Botha

Software Developer

Daniël is a Computer Science student from Stellenbosch, South Africa. He originally joined the vemgoo team at the end of 2018 as an intern developer, and later he moved up to junior software developer.

After participating in many internships before his job at vemgoo, he definitely thinks vemgoo is the best workplace.

Daniël has been making music since the age of 7 and has built a name for himself in the local music scene. He is currently playing as a drummer in his band. In his free time, he is either in the studio recording music or playing a session gig at a local club.
